Our organization is only as effective as the energy we invest in it. So please review the opportunities listed below and get in touch with the appropriate contact person to learn how you can play a role in supporting GSCSW. E-mails and phone numbers for the contact persons are on the About Us page of this website.

Committee Opportunities

  • Professional Education Committee: Help create and implement out Thursday evening programs and our Diane Davis lecture. For more information email: professionaled@gscsw.org
  • Low cost Supervision: There are opportunities to participate as a low cost supervisor or supervisee. See the low cost supervision site for more information or send an email: supervision@gscsw.org
  • LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) Committee: Help reach out to new Master’s Level Social Workers in the Mental Health field in Georgia. It can be difficult to navigate the process of becoming a clinical social worker, so this committee develops targeted outreach to encourage new member use of mentoring meetings, participation in networking events, and use of low cost supervision. For more information email: lmsw@gscsw.org
  • Mentorship: The mentorship committee maintains a list of informal mentors in various fields of social work. This list is used in mentorship committee meetings to offer LMSW social workers a mentor they can contact for more information regarding different areas of interest. If you are interested in being an informal mentor, please contact mentor@gscsw.org
  • Social Media: The Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work has historically had a Public Relations committee, whose chair is a member of the GSCSW board.  As committee roles have changed and social media has become a part of everyday life, we are expanding the PR committee to include social media, which may encompass updating and monitoring our Facebook page, sending tweets from our Twitter feed, and keeping abreast of the aspects of social media which are appropriate for GSCSW for the dissemination of current news, updates, upcoming events, etc.  If you have an interest in social media and would like to know more about this committee, please contact socialmedia@gscsw.org
  • Ethics: The Ethics committee is available to members to provide consultation on ethical questions and issues.  They also write articles on pertinent clinical issues each spring and fall for GSCSW’s Clinical Page.  Please contact the chairs at ethics@gscsw.org
  • Legislative: The Legislative committee exists to educate, inform and call our membership to action on legislative issues affecting social work practice and issues of social justice.  To get involved please contact legislative@gscsw.org
  • Clinical Page: Published each fall and spring, the Clinical Page is always seeking members who love to write and/or edit.  Please contact clinicalpage@gscsw.org
