Dr. Lucy Cannon, LCSW, LICSW, CAADC, MATS

Dr. Lucy R. Cannon is a nationally recognized behavioral health expert, consultant, and educator with over 40 years of experience in mental health, substance use disorders treatment, and clinical social work. She is the CEO of LEJ Behavioral Health Services, LLC, where she provides training, auditing, and consultation to help organizations comply with Medicaid, CARF, and Joint Commission standards. Dr. Cannon holds a Doctorate in Education with a Concentration in Counseling Psychology and multiple licenses and certifications, reflecting her deep expertise in the field.
Throughout her career, Dr. Cannon has served in leadership roles such as Director of Behavioral Health Services at Lutheran Services of Georgia, Behavioral Health Program Manager for Fulton County, and Clinical Auditor for APS Healthcare. She has worked extensively with military populations both domestically and abroad, including her role as an Adolescent Substance Abuse Counselor for the U.S. Army in Japan and a facilitator with the Navy Reserve Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program. Currently, she also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Clark Atlanta University, where she teaches in the Master’s-Level Social Work Program.
Dr. Cannon is a sought-after speaker and trainer, frequently presenting at national conferences and for organizations such as SAMHSA, NASW, TAADAS (Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug, and Other Addiction Services), Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities and Department of Behavioral Health and Addictive Diseases (DBHDD), United States Navy Reserve, and the Georgia School of Addiction Studies. She serves on several boards, including as Treasurer of the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia and President of the Transformational Leadership Collaborative and the SATTC Community Accountability Board, Morehouse School of Medicine. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed care, cultural competence, 21st century clinical supervision, telehealth, ethics, artificial intelligence, and the empowerment of clinicians and communities across the behavioral health spectrum.
The conference will be approved for 12 continuing education hours for social workers, professional counselors, and marriage and family therapists. Attendees will earn at least five (5) Ethics CEs.
