“Make Things Less Bad: Cooperative and Non-coercive De-escalation”

Join us for an immersive workshop focused on cooperative, non-coercive de-escalation practices. In a world that often relies on hierarchical systems and external authorities to handle conflict and tension, this workshop invites us to reclaim de-escalation as an essential community care skill rooted in ancestral wisdom and collective empathy.

Drawing from principles of trauma-informed care, disability justice, mutual aid, and solidarity, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own values, gain practical de-escalation skills, and learn to navigate challenging situations through collective action and self-determination. This workshop is dedicated to empowering individuals with tools for reducing harm, building community resilience, and strengthening bonds through shared care.
