Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT)

Presented by Tara Arnold, PhD, LCSW

Event Description: Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy or RO DBT is a newer form of DBT recreated for people who are overcontrolled. This evidence-based treatment helps to create emotional health by increasing flexibility, connection with others, and openness to feedback. Many chronic mental health problems have elements of rigidity, close mindedness, and lack of intimate connection creating emotional loneliness. RO DBT addresses our nervous system’s response to the world and others and empowers us to learn to act in a more open, flexible, and connecting way helping us to create a ‘life worth sharing’.
RO DBT helps clients with many conditions including; maladaptive perfectionism, chronic pain, treatment resistant depression, treatment resistant anxiety, ASD, anorexia and much more. By attending this workshop, participants will:

  1. Learn about the foundation of RO DBT
  2. Understand the nervous system’s impact on social connection
  3. Learn an example of an RO DBT skill
