Christopher Uptain, LCSW was a dedicated member of the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work’s Board of Directors and served as Chair of the Membership Committee. Sadly, Christopher passed away in September of 2020. GSCSW would like to honor Christopher’s legacy by committing our energy and resources to an area Christopher was extremely passionate about – social work students.
Christopher consistently named his desire for GSCSW to strengthen our outreach to students in Masters of Social Work programs. He prioritized the importance of offering students opportunities to network, gain clinical knowledge, mentorship, and a professional place of belonging along their journey to becoming clinical social workers.
To honor Christopher, and because GSCSW shares his vision for social work students, we have created the “Christopher Uptain Student Engagement Scholarship Fund.” Our mission is to build relationships with students enrolled in Georgia’s social work programs.
This fund will provide three students with a scholarship of $1,000 each as well as a one year membership with GSCSW.
